Kinda Like Condoms For Your Shoes

There is NOTHING worse than adorning your feet with your favorite satin or suede shoes and as soon as you are out and about in full strut......it starts raining! (boooo)

Q: What's a Diva to do?!?!

A: Shuella

You can avoid a rain-soaked disaster with Shuella shoe covers. Just slip them over whatever kicks you’re wearing to protect them from getting ruined. They’re intended to work over heels, too. Great for those of us who don’t always check the weather!

Safeguarding your pumps is NOT something to take lightly, I repeat....safeguarding your pumps in NOT something to take lightly!

Jimmy Choo Makes My Dreams Come TRUE!

IT IS SERIOUSLY LIKE CHRISTMAS IN JUNE OR MAYBE MORE LIKE A NATIONAL HOLIDAY; all schools, banks, and federal offices to be closed in observance of Jimmy Choo making my dreams (and probably yours too) come true - Jimmy Choo will be designing accessories, clothes, and SHOES for H&M this fall!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I need an oxygen tank, a line of cocaine, and a bottle of Grey Goose......to get my pulse regulated of course!!!)

Isn't that like music to your ears?!?! A miracle delivered to your nearest mall?!?! The stiletto at the end of the rainbow?!?!

Okay, so here's the plan - aka "Operation JC": the shoes hit H&M on November 14th; we need to split up in teams across the country ladies to increase our chances of "Operation JC" being a success. Since the 14th lands on a Saturday, most people will be camped outside the night before....but we will beat these shoe jacking skanks at their own game and camp out starting WEDNESDAY November 11th! (no food or water after midnight - bathroom breaks are not on the itinerary!) There are a few more steps to my plan but I can't reveal all my secrets until I know who's down with OPP ("yeah you know me")....I mean "Operation JC"?!?!?

I am only being half serious! LOL

Get your dollars ready Divas cause it's time to stimulate the economy via H&M on November 14th.

Men's Summer Style - Sandals or Sneakers? by AYC

"Ya'll can wear sneakers on the beach if you want to....." - Jay Z

Ladies, I'm back......took me longer than I thought, but they made me do it - your man with his busted ass feet in those swag-less Scooby Doos! (those are shoes by the way, keep up ladies) I feel like I need to share because sneakers and boots will not cut it at every occasion, especially not in the summer months. Every man should own a pair of sandals!

First let's talk about when to wear sandals:

At the office - no.

On the block - NO.

At the club - it depends on if you are going upscale or to the Guitar Bar....or is it back to The Armory these days? LOL

Date with a chic - yessssir.

On the beach - FO SHO!

Now let's start with a basic pedicure for men! P-E-D-I-C-U-R-E. This doesn't mean just clipping your toe nails on the edge of the tub, I am talking about actually making an appointment for professional services. Google it if you or he haven't a clue where to go. Toenails hanging over the edge of the sandal is so not sexy! They must be cleaned, clipped, and polished with a clear coat.

Before I continue on to the outfit, back away from the sock drawer......socks with sandals is some real live dumb shit!

Keeping in mind ladies, I don't expect your man to pull it off as effortlessly as myself so here's a guide, free of charge (this time bitches):

With a pair of nice jeans, NO creases with a grown-man button down or non-white tee that only comes in XXL, XXXL, or XXXXL!

Cool linen pants with a coordinating linen shirt - please, please, PLEASE make him where a t0shirt underneath.

Capris and casual shorts, not the shorts you wear around the house or to cut grass, are acceptable.

The sandal that I have chosen above should work easily into your man's casual summer wardrobe. If he won't take a hint then treat your him to something special and I'm quite sure he'll hook you up with something special - FEEL ME!

Valsesia by Bruno Magli, $325. http://www.zappos.com/product/7504869/color/139148

Keep checkin' for me cause I'll be back with more men's summer style tips and maybe a few for you ladies too.

Holla at me with a comment or two.

Two up two down,

AYC

Notice My Nails

I am in the process of cleaning (clothes, shoes, accessories, purses, beauty products, etc) as I am attempting to "shop" my closet this summer so I am coming across all kinds of things......I found this Essie polish in a purse from last year.

I have been thinking about picking up some new polishes for the summer to get my nails noticed and envied but when I found this gem I decided to give it a try! I know a lot of people are struggling with it right now, but I'm kind of loving the return of neon. But with neon (as with many of the '80's comebacks), there's always the fine line between fun and obnoxious!

I introduce Essie's Bermuda Shorts, pictured on my fingers and toes. Described on their site as "high-voltage violet", the color is bright, happy, and bold. While the color looks a little shocking in the bottle, when applied, it's actually really pretty and an instant mood lifter!

Ugly Feet?

Sorry to startle you Divas first thing Monday morning with a photo of feet (these were far from the worst!!!) but I thought this product was interesting and really made me question my shallowness! I am all for coming as close to perfection as humanly possible, I have gone extra lengths for my feet before (ie - having my toes waxed!!! I swear I tell you bitches TOO much! lol) but am I THAT shallow that I would go as far as to purchase foot concealer?!?!

I am fully aware that there are some things that a pumice stone and some salt scrub just won't fix and I am thankful that is not one of my challenges in life, but I know a few chicas that do have some jacked up feet! (ILK) I guess I just assumed that if you are aware that your feet look like they could grip the carpet and walk on their own that you would not necessarily expose them too often, not even in the warm summer months. I also assumed that the right shoe could make the Wicked Witch of the West's feet look marvelous! (those ruby slippers are STILL on my list of Top 10 Shoes of ALL Times!) My ignorance, sorry......anywho, the head makeup artist for The Bold and the Beautiful invented T!ntalize (I sear I don't make this stuff up ladies), a smudge- and sweatproof (supposedly) makeup designed to conceal corns, scars, blisters, veins, tan lines, and other discolorations.

I have not tried it, nor do I know anyone who has even though I could suggest it to a few folk. If you have tried it or would like to, please leave a comment below.

Not Fashionable BUT Practical

I came across this products while riding in a NYC cab - Peeky toes, are you familiar?

Are these fashionable...no, BUT they are very practical! Picture it - winter , 2009: you are the type of DIVA that keeps her every other week pedicure routine even during the colder months when your toes are not as exposed as they are in the summer (remember, peep-toes are acceptable all year-round ladies). You have a 10am appointment that you refuse to miss this Saturday morning, but it's literally 15 degrees outside!!! The thought of traveling to and from the salon in flip-flops totally ruins the experience that you have created in your head of plush pampering when your flip-flop adorned, exposed toes have the possibility of being frost bitten. Sure you can choose a pair of warm, closed shoes and TRY to wrap your semi-dry toes in plastic on your way home but you and I both now that you run the risk of smudging them before you even turn the key to start up the car.......so what's a girl to do?

PEEKY TOES to the rescue! (the pic above is self-explanatory)

Express Yourself

Along with the Insta-dri polishes, Sally Hansen introduces eight new nail art pens ($7.99). A variety of shades in white, black, light pink, hot pink, blue, red, silver and gold. An easy-to-use fine tip pen filled with different shades of lacquer in each one.

The mistake proof formula can be removed or corrected with a moist cotton swab without damaging dry nail polish. Water based formula is environmentally friendly. Express yourself baby, be creative. Possibilities are endless.

I'm really excited about these new nail art pens from Sally Hansen. Mistake proof indeed. Since the formula is water-based, it's such a breeze removing if you make an mistake. Just take a tissue and wipe without disturbing your base coat - ta da.

Here's to beer!

This cool refreshing brew wasn't only made to be a perfect summer sidekick, it comes in handy for beauty too!!! (thank God cause I think it tastes AWFUL! AND there is nothing worse than seeing a young lady or woman guzzling beer directly from the bottle - HOLY INAPPRORIATENESS!!!)

I digress......the yeast in beer softens weary, callused feet. Try this treatment at home since I doubt the local spa will allow you to:

1) Send children, significant others, and all animals away!

2) Pour 1 bottle of lager into warm water.

3) Soak 10 minutes.

4) Massage 1 cup Epsom salt and the juice of 1 lime onto feet and legs

5) Rinse & dry.

6) Pop bottle of Nuvo and relax!!

Smooches & Happy Labor Day

PS - I know the "traditional" rule is NO WHITE after Labor Day (yes Mom, I know) but this is a new darn day ladies, white can and should be worn all year round!!

Loving the PedEgg!

Okay......so I am the only one who was intrigued with this tv commercial and wondering how well it works??? (please say "NO"!!!) The commercialc laims that the PedEggTM gently removes callouses and dead skin with precision micro-files to reveal "incredibly baby soft look and feel that everybody loves". (sounds good to me, what a GREAT way to maintain a pedicure between you two week appointments - am I the only one that stays on the every two week schedule EVEN during the winter?
I was pretty pumped to try out this odd "as seen on TV!!!!!!!" invention so when I spotted it at the local Walgreen's late night on a Thursday evening with my Boo (we ran out of lubrication and needed to replace it immediately- HEY NOW) I asked her to buy it for me. (she looked at me sideways and commented that it "looks like an ovary") Anywho, I was excited the next morning when I got a chance to try it out.....and it didn't disappoint. It's gross yet satisfying to watch dry skin bits fill up the little chamber beneath the "grater" (sorry, couldn't find a better word to describe it).
Just as the icky infomercial claims, this puppy sloughs off way more crud than a pumice stone or foot file. Now that my review has you ready to throw up in your mouth a little bit, want to share your favorite pedi find? Let's get those feet ready for sandal season chicks!! (FYI - it is here)
