I've Got a Crush on You!

I am normally not a wedge heel kinda girl but these Bonnie Stamped Croc Wedges from Dior are SICK! *I'm drooling ladies, I'm drooling* I accidently ran across these and it literally took my breath away! These are sure to bring exoticness to your wardrobe.

The perforations make this look in the vogue for the spring and summer, yet coming in a croc-embossed leather material makes it wearable for every season there is. (GET EXCITED) It has multiple shaped straps across the front with zigzag trimming and tonal topstitching. A back zip fastening then makes this easy to wear on and off and adds a touch of sexiness....I LOVE a back zipper! The leather straps are atop a croc-embossed leather platform and wedge; while its five inches heel, which is also attached to the wedge, is covered in patent leather.

What more can a girl ask for?!?

Winter Trend: Metal Heels

Salvatore Ferragamo

When you think of Salvatore Ferragamo, you think of a premium brand of luxury, elegance and sophistication. The Ferragamo family has been making shoes since the early 1920's with the consistency that only they can bring. The craftsmanship and detail of their collections is always amazing.

These Ferragamo beauties are made from Fondente leather, just FLAWLESS!

There is a very fine line between fashion and trashy when it comes to metal heels...but Ferragamo has pulled it off effortlessly.

MUST Have Manicure for the Fall

Ohhhhh! Ahhhhh! This is my FAVORITE look for fall - a mixed metal manicure!

A smattering of gold and silver over gunmetal is equal parts grit and glamour. And getting the look is much easier than you think—trust us!

Need to have this look? Follow these simple instructions:

STEP 1 Lacquer nails with two coats of gunmetal (CND Enamel in Hyde in the Dark). Allow at least five minutes for the polish to dry.

STEP 2 Sweep nail adhesive(Kami Nail Foil adhesive)over the polish. It will change from white to clear matte when dry.

STEP 3 Place a strip of gold foil—shiny side facing down(Kami Metallic gold and silver foil) over your nail, tap three to four times with your fingertip to deposit the pigment, then peel off. Repeat with the silver foil.

Fall 2009 Trend - Ornamentation

This opulent look owes a lot to the exoticism of the Far East, it is a testament to modern technology with its incandescent fabrics and intricately woven details.

Worn head to toe it's highly dramatic but probably too theatrical. One standout piece paired with a solid is a more likely choice. If your tastes are even simpler, the embroidered ballet flats or earrings will do quite nicely......like the ones pictured above from Tejani.

Antiqued gold-plated earrings with cultured pearls, glass and enamel - simply HAUTE!

MUST Have Manicure for the Fall

Not only do I LOVE this manicure but I love, love, LOVE this photo.....the yellow clutch makes this mod inspired manicure POP with delight!!

RE-introducing the Moon Manicure. The original "moon manicure" first showed up on screen stars back in the '20s. In graphic black-and-white, the two-tone paint job is bolder than ever!

Is this a look that you MUST have, try:

STEP 1 Apply one coat of opaque white (Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail color in Whirlwind White) over the entire nail and wait for the polish to dry completely.

STEP 2 Using a semicircular French-manicure stencil sticker (Orly French Manicure Tip Guides), block off the bottom third of your nail.

STEP 3 Paint two coats of black (Essie nail polish in Licorice) from the stencil to the tip of the nail. Once it dries, peel off the sticker and finish with a shine-enhancing top coat over the entire nail.

White Shoes - I love them, I love them not?!?

Has anyone else struggled with this issue.....white shoes or NO white shoes?!? I have fashionably evolved passed the "style rules", for example:

1) no mixing of metals, silver/white gold and yellow gold don't mix - guilty as charged!

2) mixing prints - lock me up!

3) wearing black and brown together - issue me a ticket!

4) no white after labor day - 25 to life!

As you can see, I create my own rules in my Passion For Pretty world. (I am such the rule breaker) I beg of you to do the same, to take fashion risks, and to live dangerously in style - do it, it's your fashion duty Divas! These rules today are as relevant as Weird Al Yankovic.....that says alot right there! LOL

So.....the only question that I go back and forth with is "Are white shoes appropriate at any time on a female over the age of 5"? White shoes have always either screamed I AM TACKY or I AM A STRIPPER! (not that I am offended by being seen as a stripper, HEY NOW!)

I decided years ago that I love white and I actually wear it all year round; but white shoes have always made me cringe. I knew that if I did decide to tackle white shoes that I could not pair them with a super girly pastel frock that would immediately make me look like my 5 yr old niece on Easter Sunday and that the white shoes need to be VERY clean, no "stripper scuff" allowed.

After a few weeks of searching, I found a FAB pair that I can not wait to break out this year:

Not only am I shocked that I found white shoes that I love, I am shocked that I purchased an Apple Bottom shoe - somebody check my pulse and see if I am still breathing! lol Do they say stripper? (secretly I am hoping you say YES!)

Net-a-Porter's NEW Outlet Site

Clockwise from top left: DVF dress, Oscar de la Renta suit, Jill Stuart dress, Philip Lim blazer, Tibi sandals, and MINT jodi arnold dress.

If you're anything like me — I'm extremely budget-conscious and almost never purchase apparel at full price. (well, excluding shoes!) You may know Net-a-Porter as that designer e-commerce site you will never be able to afford to shop from. But last week, Net-a-Porter's outlet site called the Outnet launches. The items on this site are still expensive, but you have a far greater likelihood of being able to afford something here than on Net-a-Porter.

Labels include Alexander McQueen, Miu Miu, Derek Lam, Diane Von Furstenberg, Phillip Lim, Jill Stuart, and Oscar de la Renta. The Outnet is like a never-ending online sample sale, which is great, because you don't have to leave your chair to shop, or throw elbows with the girl trying to swipe the last dress in your size.

However, a lot of the stuff is a few seasons old, so you'll want to search for things that are relevant and won't go out of style. Approach shopping here as you would the first day of the Barneys Warehouse Sale: Buy things you think are a worthy investment or that you think will sell out quickly. Like a sample sale, prices on this site will probably go down on items that aren't selling.

Not Fashionable BUT Practical

I came across this products while riding in a NYC cab - Peeky toes, are you familiar?

Are these fashionable...no, BUT they are very practical! Picture it - winter , 2009: you are the type of DIVA that keeps her every other week pedicure routine even during the colder months when your toes are not as exposed as they are in the summer (remember, peep-toes are acceptable all year-round ladies). You have a 10am appointment that you refuse to miss this Saturday morning, but it's literally 15 degrees outside!!! The thought of traveling to and from the salon in flip-flops totally ruins the experience that you have created in your head of plush pampering when your flip-flop adorned, exposed toes have the possibility of being frost bitten. Sure you can choose a pair of warm, closed shoes and TRY to wrap your semi-dry toes in plastic on your way home but you and I both now that you run the risk of smudging them before you even turn the key to start up the car.......so what's a girl to do?

PEEKY TOES to the rescue! (the pic above is self-explanatory)

Sultry and Smoky

The changing of seasons always brings out the best in me, I feel like I get to re-invent myself - AGAIN! But I am starting to realize that some of you ladies look forward to seasonal change with the same excitement that you look forward to your yearly gynecological exam….hmmm, certainly a few notches less than my level of excitement! LOL

Just as you adjust your wardrobe and skincare as the seasons change, the same goes for your makeup. Think of this as your opportunity to “test drive” trends to see what works for you…and if you need a hint, nudge, or full push into the latest trends, don’t worry, you’ll receive your DIVA instructions here! (wink)

A HUGE trend for the Fall is a smoky eye, seen at Zac Posen, Versace, Pucci, Gucci, Fendi and Armani Fall Fashion shows. Makeup artists traded in the usual black for softer shades like brown, teal, and gray, for rich, smoldering look that perfectly matches fall's edgy classic fashions.
The key to the perfect smoky eye makeup is blending, then blending a bit more, and blending one last time just to be sure that you have blended - you want to make sure colors are blended together flawlessly. Also, it's important to pair light base colors with rich dark colors. Nice mixes include: Soft gold base with deep purple on top, champagne base with bright blue and peach base with green hue.

Follow my lead Divas:

1. Prep the lid - To keep eyeshadow from melting into your eyelid crease as the day goes on is to kept eyelids oil-free. To do this start with an eyeshadow base (also called "primer") or an oil-control silicone product like Mary Kay’s Oil Mattifier.

2. Apply eyeliner - If you're going for a typical black, brown or gray smoky eye, apply liner in one of those colors above the upper lash line, drawing line thicker in the middle of eye. If you’re opting for a jewel-toned eye (violet makes a gorgeous smoky eye), line eyes with a purple, blue or deep green liner.

3. Blend in color on bottom lashes - For color on the bottom (a key smoky eye look) you'll want lighter eyeliner. The key is to "smudge it." You can also apply a bit of shadow to get full smudge effect with the proper smudge brush.

4. Apply light base color – A smoky eye requires pairing a lighter base with the darker hue. I prefer a nice cream shade for my base. Sweep a light, shimmery shadow over the lids to your brow bone. I love Stila's whipped eye shadows, $20. The moist "mousse" consistency seems to stay on forever.

5. Blend in darker color, but keep dark color below the crease - Now that you have the base and eyeliner on, it's time to get the smoky effect, you need a darker eyeshadow shade. Using an eyeshadow brush blend in color starting at your lash line, blending up. Make sure to blend color into the lash line so the eye liner disappears. Stop deep color at crease.

6. Double check your work - Make sure eyes match and blend color with a Q-tip if need be.

7. Finish with several coats of volumizing mascara - Tried and true mascaras include DiorShow Mascara, it’s my absolute FAVORITE!

Just remember to keep the lips nude to avoid that “street walker” look that we talked about before.
