Smell Like You Partied Hard Last Night?

You started off at Happy Hour but midnight at the bar turned out better than you could have ever imagined or have even planned, but the does not mean you can walk into your office oozing French Martinis!

The problem with alcohol is that it stays in your body until you can metabolize it or sweat it out. (I say go home saucy and sweat it out in bed with your Boo ladies.....just a thought, but who am I?!?) HOWEVER, citrus drinks high in acidity can help disguise the "stench".

Try sipping OJ or even a little pink grapefruit juice which helps to speed up your metabolism - burning off the liquor AND burning off some unwanted fat!

SkinnyGirl Margarita

Have you all heard all the rave about SkinnyGirl Margaritas? Well....I decided to give them a try on Sat night with 3 of my girlfriends, 3 of us gave it a thumbs up and 1 gave it a thumbs down. Try for yourself and let me know what you think.

The key is to stick with the tequila and the triple sec, but substitute fresh lime juice for the pre-sweetened ,ix. Not only is the SkinnyGirl version not too sweet but it will allow you to splurge on something like chips and salsa!!!

Here's how to make an individual serving:

Combine the following ingredients over ice: 2oz Milagro Silver Tequila, the juice of 4 fresh lime wedges, and a splash of Bols Triple Sec.

Ole', a SkinnyGirl Margarita!!! SkinnyGirl 160 calories vs traditional 740 calories.

Benefits of Wine

I read up on the surprising benefits of wine during my recent mini-vacation.....most of us know that vino is good for you heart, but it can also knock off extra pounds, fight stains, and make skin glow! (awwww, let's break out the Moscato ladies!!!)

Fat Stopper
The University of Ulm in Germany found that resveratrol, an anti-oxidant in grape skin, inhibits fat storage in fat cells. it also helps prevent obesity-related disorders like diabetes and clogged arteries.

Body Soother
Wine's antioxidants helps heal damaged skin, try this soak from Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara in your next bath:

Add 20 drops jasmine essential oil

1/4 cup grape seed oil

1 cup Epsom or sea salt

1/2 bottle of red wine

Stain Lifter
Nothing attacks red wine stains better than white wine. Carefully pour white wine onto the stain, and cover with salt to absorb the liquid; shake off salt, blot with club soda, and launder as usual.

Chic Cocktails

I don't know about you but I don''t think I can stomach any Eggnog or Peppermint Martini....let's break the rules and serve NON Holiday themed drinks this year!

Here are some fashionable suggestions....

The Cointreau Teese
Dita von Teese's cocktail is a bold cocktail featuring Cointreau as well as Monin violet syrup (a fragrant syrup that represents Dita's favorite flower)

1 1/2 oz Cointreau
3/4 oz Apple juice
1/2 oz Monin violet syrup
1/2 oz Fresh lemon juice

Frost ginger around the rim of the glass.

The Velvet Edie
3 parts Martini & Rossi Bianco Vermouth
1 part Lemon juice
1/2 part Simple syrup
2 Raspberries
2 Mint leaves

Gently muddle one raspberry and one mint leaf with simple syrup in the base of a martini shaker. Add remaining ingredients and ice. Shake well and strain over ice. Garnish with lemon slice, raspberry and mint leaf.

Delicious Night Blackberry Martini
1 oz p.i.n.k. Vodka
1 1/2 oz Cranberry Juice
1 oz Blackberry Brandy
1/2 oz Cointreau
Splash of Sour Mix
Fresh Blackberries

Combine ingredients over ice and shake well. Strain into a well-chilled martini glass. Pour 1 1/2 scoops of mulled blackberries through the center. Stir slightly. Garnish with a blackberry on the edge of the glass.

Enjoy!

Ready to Drink OUT THE BOX!

So flipping through my Marie Claire magazine while waiting for my flight to VA on Fri (that was delayed 3 freakin' hours!!!) and came across an add for Daily's Cocktails & Mixers. Hmmmm....quick drinks!

Pour perfect pre-mixed cocktails from Daily's fridge-ready boxes WITH a built-in pour spout! (HEY NOW) Crafted by leading mixologists, they give you a convenient, delicious way to enjoy the latest cocktails at your place. (or any place)

I have not tried this yet but from past experience I would say to have additional liquor on hand just in case you need to add another shot or two.

FABULOUS Martini

Hold on tight cause these glasses are hot, HOT, HOT! My dedicated reader and fellow MK sister Mya directed me to this sight (go Mya, can u say D-I-V-A) and I instantly fell in love!

There are Martini glasses for any and every occasion, any and every day of the week, and and every personality!!! Pictured above is the Stiletto glass (in honor of us shallow shoe whores) along with a drink recipe. (AMARETTO QUICK CLAPS) All of the glasses by Lolita are hand-painted and fashionably designed.

ENJOY and if anyone is looking to buy me a cute gift, the Red Hot-tini glass is at the top of my list! (hint, hint)'
