The Art of Curves Show 2008 was as spectacular as I had expected!! This year I was actually able to see the show as part of the Press (doesn't that sound so official and professional - GO ME!) since last year I worked behind the scenes as makeup artist extraordinaire. (wink) The Art of Curves(http://www.theartofcurves.com/Home.html) is committed to supporting and promoting positive body images in fashion and media. Their events provide designers with a venue, trained models, and access to buyers and consumers.

I arrived at the venue around 7pm directly after work and was instantly greeted by a GORGEOUS creature seated behind a table who checked her list and handed me a pass. I was escorted to my seat by the hostess and eagerly awaited the start of the show. I decided to avoid the cash bar and light finger food (a girl still is watching her weight) to focus on networking and staying on my PassionForPretty grind! The show started promptly at 8:30pm with a bubbly hostess and a fabulous DJ.

There were numerous designers, all dedicated to us curvy, full-figured girls with a delicious mix of casual chic, splashes of color, wrap dresses, block print, sheath dresses, tribal print, funky adaptation of the shirt dress, dusters, and catsuits (she wore the HELL out of that red catsuit). My favorite designer of the evening was Robert E. Knight (http://roberteknight.com/) who had the most wonderful selection of dresses and gowns, some in a subtle shimmer and other with bold jeweled accents.....can you say MUY CALIENTE!!! (okay, so I think I may become a Robert E. Knight stalker......at least until I get a dress, LOL)

Anywho, I enjoyed my self immensely and look forward to the 2009 Art of Curves Fashion Show.
