Proper Accessories

So you have the perfect outfit – but what do you plan to accessorize with?

Too many women make huge mistakes when it comes to wearing jewelry. Ladies, if you have no idea what looks good with a particular outfit, this guide is for you!

I’m going to show you how to wear jewelry to complement any outfit you throw together… and what not to wear.

With so many fashion rules we have to follow, it’s no wonder mistakes are made. Luckily, I’m here to show you which jewelry faux pas you absolutely cannot afford to make – as well as how to rock the pieces you love.

Big, Bright, Bold
Pairing a large gemstone-inspired ring with humongous hoop earrings and five necklaces is overkill.

If you want to wear large, bright or bold jewelry, keep it to a minimum.

Let one piece be the focal point of your outfit, and never wear chunky or bright pieces with a wild print. The more understated your outfit is, the better!

Less IS more, ladies!
If you’re confident enough to rock this look, make sure you don’t look like you just robbed a pawn shop. Keep your outfits and other accessories streamlined, and stick to one bold piece to focus on.

Silver and Gold Together at Last
If you’re still following the old school rule of never mixing gold and silver together, you’re in luck – fashionistas everywhere know that mixing their gold and silver jewelry can be totally trendy when done right. The key to pulling off mixed metals is to wear jewelry that’s the same or similar in style. If you’re going all out with chunky bangles or drop necklaces, keep the gold and silver in line with one another!

Conversely, dainty jewelry should be paired with… yep, you got it – dainty jewelry! Stack gold and silver bangles together, or wear two necklaces of similar design. You’ll look like you just stepped out of a fashion magazine.

Honestly, it’s not that hard to pull off the latest jewelry trends, provided you know how to strut your stuff without looking overdone. While rules are made to be broken, you don’t want to look like you just raided mom’s closet and are playing dress up around town!

The bottom line? If you plan on wearing bold jewelry, keep it simple with the rest of your outfit – and silver and gold work well together if you keep everything in the same style.

A true fashion guru knows when something works for her. Keep the above tips in mind, and you’ll be a veritable fashion icon!
