Crystal-Encrusted Headband

I am SO in love with this headband and I am not headband wearer!

Hand-made by Jennifer Behr, this crystal-encrusted beauty is breath-taking! It takes 2 hours to construct, adding the Swarovski crystals with thread that is personally waxed by Behr....no two pieces are alike.

The unique results are worthy of a princess, which is exactly how you'd feel with this sparkler perched on your pretty little head!

$725, http://www.jenniferbehr.com/

Style Icon of the Week - Halle Berry

This should be of NO surprise to anyone.....Halle was, is, and will always be a Style Icon period! With that being said, I had to choose her as the Style Icon of the Week for this simple, classic, non-forced look pictured above - F-L-A-W-L-E-S-S!!!!

Miss Berry is photographed arriving at the opening ceremony of the Shanghai International Film Festival in a sweeping chiffon Marchesa design and Jimmy Choo sandals.

I love that she played up her pixie cut with a shoulder-baring asymmetrical gown embellished with crystals. Since she's wearing a dress with a little something extra, she kept the rest of her look clean with minimal jewelry. (her stud earrings)

I just adore her in this haircut, you better WERK and TWERK Miss Halle!

Style Icon of the Week - Kerry Washington

The epitome of beauty and grace.....Kerry Washington never disappoints! Here she is at the "Face" premiere at the Palais De Festivals during the 62ND Annual Cannes Film Festival looking deliciously tasty in this fabulous black and white, lace, one-shoulder Oscar de la Renta gown. Can you say STUNNING!

Everything from her bouffant hair, flawless make-up, pearl drop earrings and black and rhinestone clutch is pure perfection! I am SO glad that she traded in her signature nude lips for a pop of color up against the basic black and white palette of the dress.

Kerry, if you are out there reading Passion For Pretty.....I LOVE YOUR STYLE GIRL, did anyone ever tell you how gorgeous you are? (I'm single babes, give me a call! lol)

The Claw

This diffuser looks a bit strange.....possibly like a back scratcher or maybe even a weird sex toy (okay maybe only in my mind, LOL!! not that I have anyone to use it with anymore) Anywho, it's a diffuser and it's intended for curly hair but makes any hair type instantly messy-on-purpose and wild - gotta love that!

Just massage it at your scalp to really lift roots, then rake through all over and haphazardly gather big handfuls to muss all around for a billowy-hot rock star effect! (translation for black girls, works great on Wet n' Wavy weave or natural hair!) It's a universal adapter and fits 99% of blow-dryers so no additional attachments needed.

Fall's Must Have Hair Accessory

Hipster headbands are still hot this season, but now they have some competition. Feather headbands are everywhere. This past weekend I spotted them in high-end department stores, Urban Outfitters, and Forever 21.

If I decided to add some length to my newly cropped locks, then I have my eye on a gorgeous Jennifer Behr creation (the headbands Leighton Meester, aka, Blair Waldorf wears on Gossip Girl) shown above. 2" Feather Headband, $158.

My Secret Hair Weapon

Biotin pills make my hair happy. If there’s such a thing as a miracle remedy for hair, it’s Biotin. Last year when I was dealing with some serious breakage, a hairstylist told me to start taking it as a supplement. I marched right over to a health-food store and bought some and I’ve been taking it daily ever since—it’s been about a year. My hair is definitely in much better shape now, if I do say so myself. I used to get scolded by hairstylists about all the damage but now she compliments me on how soft and strong my hair feels. Yay, gold star for me!!! So naturally I want to load up on the stuff.

The Coil Review

I am ashamed to admit this but I do not know much about naturally textured hair even though my Boo and my best friend both have GORGEOUS locks along with my brother "Sal", his wife (my IDOL), and daughter (my DIVA-In-Training niece) also having beuatiful natural styles!!! (bad Shallow Shoe Whore)
But thank God we now have a place to turn for information, natural hair styles, natural hair care, and hair products - The Coil Review! (http://thecoilreview.com/en/index.php) This instantly reminded me of the ignorant statements that were made by Ashley Baker, an Editor at Glamour, regarding why black women shouldn't wear their hair in afros or natural styles in corporate America - someone should have sent her to this site to set that ass straight!
I came across this site while on my journey to find Freelance work and was totally blown away. Not only is it a beautiful site, it's chock-full-o-information. A clean, easy to read layout, girlie enough to make you feel at home, modern with an urban flare, and the ability to remind you the beauty of being "ethnic"!!!
Girl Power AND Black Pride.....watch out world!
