I've Got a Crush on You!

I am normally not a wedge heel kinda girl but these Bonnie Stamped Croc Wedges from Dior are SICK! *I'm drooling ladies, I'm drooling* I accidently ran across these and it literally took my breath away! These are sure to bring exoticness to your wardrobe.

The perforations make this look in the vogue for the spring and summer, yet coming in a croc-embossed leather material makes it wearable for every season there is. (GET EXCITED) It has multiple shaped straps across the front with zigzag trimming and tonal topstitching. A back zip fastening then makes this easy to wear on and off and adds a touch of sexiness....I LOVE a back zipper! The leather straps are atop a croc-embossed leather platform and wedge; while its five inches heel, which is also attached to the wedge, is covered in patent leather.

What more can a girl ask for?!?

Not Your Grandmother's Pastels!

Essie (clockwise): Pop Art Pink, Lilacism, Neo Whimsical,
Van D'go, Tart Deco, Red Nouveau

Essie’s The Art of Spring Collection is a pretty-in-pastel six shade launch. They’re a nice bunch of colors that give you some color on your nails without being too bold, so they may work nicely for those who need to have more office-appropriate nails.

Essie (left to right): Pop Art Pink, Lilacism, Neo Whimsical, Van D’go, Tart Deco, Red Nouveau

Pop Art Pink is a milky, jelly baby pink. This shade is exceptional because you can layer it with three coats for a near opaque finish! One coat will get you that softly pink-tinted look that’s cute and feminine without being bold.

Lilacism is a cool-toned lilac cream with blue undertones. This gave fairly opaque color with two coats.

Neo Whimsical is a light lavender cream with a pink tint. Three coats are needed to get an opaque look.

Van D’go is a lightened, milky pink with a peach cream finish. Two coats to get an opaque look.

Tart Deco is a peached coral cream. Two coats for an opaque finish with NO streaks.

Red Nouveau is a brightened red cream. (similar to ones we've seen before) It applies beautifully - very smooth, even, and nearly opaque in just one coat.

Enjoy!

Sue Devitt Microquatic Hydrating Marine Minerals Collection

Blue Waters

Silky. Moisturizing. Beautiful. What more can a girl ask for in her eyeshadow?!? I am absolutely smitten with the Sue Devitt Microquatic Hydrating Marine Minerals Destination Eye Palette, I simply can not get enough of them! The eyeshadows in each palette all work together so you can create beautiful smokey eyes in tones of purple (Kilimanjaro), blue (Blue Waters), green (Green Isles), copper (Serengeti), and coral (Solomon Islands).

This Spring/Summer makeup trend is all about a splash of color which many women fear will be "too much". Have no fear, these palettes offer that with shades that are universally flattering, blendable, crease-resistant, and long-lasting (last all day WITHOUT a primer)! The richness of the colors makes my eyes pop and one can never go wrong with a hint of shimmer...especially during the summer months up against bronzed skin - HAUTE.

I currently own 3 out of the 5 palettes and in the lead is Blue Waters! My favorite way to wear this palette is with the lightest color highlighting my brow, the middle color applied wet on my lower lid for an added POP of color, and a mix of the darker two shades either in my crease or smudged along my lashline with black liner for a sexy smoky eye. I encourage you to get excited and follow my lead Divas!!

Yogurt...I Remember When I Dumped You!

During my Ladies’ Day in the city this week, my gal pal and I decided to be adventurous by eating off of a food truck outside of Central Park. Our motto this Ladies’ Day was to indulge our inner fat girl; her choice was an Italian Sausage with onion and peppers wrapped in a pita, I had a classic cheeseburger. We decided to wash that all down with sodas since cocktails were not within arm’s reach. *blink* We were off the diet wagon and in our glory inhaling calories on the steps of the Museum of Natural History.

Fast forward to the next morning after a few Mimosas, my gal pal SWORE her tummy was bothering her from but of course – the “street food” as we have dubbed it. Her 30 minutes of paranoid melodrama consisting of such comments as, “I’m never eating an Italian Sausage again” was reminiscent of me. I didn’t want her to slip down the psychotic slippery slope that made me end my love affair yogurt! Picture it – New Jersey, winter, 2001, single, 18” Lugo hair straight with a center part (I might recycle that look soon), and I worked in the Patient Finance department at a hospital….

This particular day I was wearing a haute pair of black knee high boots with black embroidery, and a sexy silver heel from Why (sick Italian designer) that I lucked up on at Daffy’s, I recall being complimented on them as I picked up my morning yogurt from the cafeteria. My yogurt of choice was Dannon Fruit at the Bottom in Strawberry with a tablespoon of granola or Cheerios for added texture – I was serious about my yogurt, delicious and helped to control my weight.

All was well until that evening when I became violently ill! I had to drive myself to the ER that evening where I was informed that I had a bug that I must have caught from a patient who had recently visited South America. I was given an IV, a prescription, and told to get rest for a week but it didn’t matter what McDreamy in the ER said, I swore it was the yogurt since that was the last thing I had eaten. *insert my paranoid melodrama here* I immediately dumped yogurt; it was over just like that! I was bitter, she had betrayed me and to top it off she left me to be tempted by such yummy high caloric breakfast food like pancakes or grits with cheese. I totally gained 10 pounds without her in my life! I was strong during the break-up; I successfully avoided all temptation and thoughts of her yummy creaminess until McDonald’s introduced the Fruit n’ Yogurt Parfait. We’ve been reunited ever since!

Here’s my FAV yogurt smoothie recipe:

2-3 cups of plain/lowfat vanilla Greek yogurt

13-15 frozen strawberries

8-10 frozen peach slices

2-3 bananas

1 cup of ice (optional)

Put all ingredients except the yogurt in the blender. Blend on medium-high until all frozen fruits are finely chopped. Blend in yogurt. If you MUST add a sweetner, I suggest Splenda with Fiber or a bit of honey. ENJOY!

Note: You can put any leftovers in a plastic container and freeze it for a treat later.

TREND ALERT: Orange-Red Lipstick

Makeup Forever Lipstick Orange Red (205), $19; Makeup Forever Glossy Couleur Tangerine (2), $ 19

Trying to break out of the "red-lip box"? I hope so because nothing is hotter right now than a splash of orange lipstick on your puckers! Any shade of orange is haute: tangerine, orange sherbet, red-orange, gold-orange, coral, peach, pastel, mango, or cinnamon orange. To compliment your lips make sure skin is bronzed and warm with neutral eyes and LOTS of mascara - get excited Divas!

Orange-red lips popped on the runway during New York Fashion Week on models of all ethnicities. Question yourself no further; this trend is for you, you, and you! If you are blonde I would opt for the orange tangerine, brunette go for the orange sherbet, dark skin and dark hair aim for the red-orange. The key to making this work is to find the correct shade and coverage that you are comfortable with; sheer and sporty (lip gloss), opaque and polished (crème lipstick), or severe and edgier (matte lipstick). However you choose to rock this juicy trend, it must be worn with confidence!

The best way to test drive a new lip color is to start with either a gloss or a swipe of lipstick applied to the center of the lip and blended outward with a finger. This type of application creates a healthy and real look, your own lips just a bit more vibrant; I would suggest topping with a tangerine gloss.

Whether opaque and polished or sever and edgy, one item can not be skipped - lip liner! I know ladies, we have become so anti-lip liner over the past few years but at least a nude colored liner will prevent the dreaded "bleeding lipstick". *ewwww* Remember the order of proper application for all red-based lipsticks: foundation, dust with powder, lip liner, lipstick, blot, and reapply second layer of lipstick. This ensures seamless application and that your color lasts past your morning coffee.

Lady Gaga, is that a...or are you just happy to see me?!?

Lady Gaga is on the cover of Britain's Q Magazine for March...with a very obvious bulge in her pants! *insert gay gasp here* We can all take turns "guessing" what's protruding from her middle region or we can just accept that it's a strap on dildo and move on.

Gaga tells Q Magazine, "We all know that one of the biggest talking points of the year was that I have a dick, so why not give them what they want?" Great question right?!? LOL

I love Lady Gaga purely for the level of shock value that she provides! I love that she pushes the limits and forces one to think outside of the box. She gets EXTRA points for rocking a strap on the cover of a magazine!
